Children’s Medicare

Children that are covered by the Child Dental Benefits schedule can access $1000 of dental treatment that is covered by the Australian Government.

Dental services that the government will provide for you child include :

• Examinations
• X–rays
• Cleaning
• Fissure sealants
• Fillings
• Root canal treatments
• Extractions

The government will not cover the following treatment :

• Orthodontic dental work
• Cosmetic dental work
• Any services that you need to have in a hospital

How do I know if I’m eligible?
* You have a child aged between 2 to 17 years old
* Your child is enrolled in Medicare
* You get certain payments from the government for at least part of the calendar year
